Karanda Orphans and Senior Citizens

CURRENT INITATIVES

ORPHAN ASSISTANCE AND GUIDANCE

The Karanda Community Care team provides support for orphan’s basic needs as well as their transition into adulthood.

This initiative works to provide essential resources, group meals, holiday parties, games and special events. Where possible, Karanda will work with partners to provide life guidance through lectures, reminding orphans that they will no longer be an orphan once they turn 18.

Today Karanda supports over 400 orphans within the local community.

SENIOR CITIZEN ASSISTANCE

Karanda provides essential resources as well as community support events for senior citizens 65+ and widows aged 60-65.

Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.
— Psalm 71:9

LOOKING AHEAD

ORPHAN SCHOOL ASSISTANCE

The Community Care team is looking to promote education among orphans by expanding access to basic education to the wider community. As orphaned children are often tempted by quick cash paying jobs, it is important to instill the value of an education from a young age.
